A uniform company infobase can be described as a data space containing all information important for support of management and decision-making process. This infobase is referred to as a data warehouse. The data warehouse consolidates information from different heterogeneous systems. The information requirements of management and structure of source data very often change in practice. DATOS Tools can allow new changes very quickly and effectively to integrate into existing system.

Design and implementation of specific management models

Data warehouse contains all relevant information of a company database. In addition to this shared database, we can build management models. The models are created to meet the needs of concrete manager teams and contain information just for privileged users. The example can be a marketing model with information about the structure of existing and potential customers, with development of sales by territory, with information about the success of marketing actions, etc. Another instance could be an accounting model with information about status and changes on single accounts, analyses of balance sheets, income statements (profit and loss accounts), cash flow and the like. The model is created out of dimensions and indicators. The dimension refers to a certain view - for example customer, goods, time, account, etc. The indicator is an economic quantity to be explored - for example turnover, sale, margin, profit, and the like. In the framework of one model, it is possible to randomly combine dimensions and indicators in a manner to get needed information. DATOS Tools contains all necessary tools for the creation, filling and administration of models. It can flexibly allow the integration of new needs on dimensions, indicators and models into the current system.

Possibility of fast, safe and simple analysis and data presentation

Analysis and presentation of data in DATOS Tools system are provided for by the PREIS client component. It allows a user (manager) to define his own view of data or take advantage of predefined views. The definition of a view is very intuitive; the results can be displayed as a table or graph, either in the internal viewer or in Excel.
